Coyotes Injury Update - Doan Probable, Boedker and Hoggan Called Up

The Coyotes called up Mikkel Boedker and Jeff Hoggan from San Antonio earlier today as several Coyotes were banged up in the Oilers game on Monday. Shane Doan spoke on 620 AM with Gambo and Ash this afternoon and said that he's a little sore, but will likely be in the lineup unless he's just in too much pain. Center Joel Perrault, who was in his first game this season for the Coyotes was put on injured reserve for the next 7-10 days with an upper body injury. Finally, center Robert Lang is still listed as day-to-day and likely won't be playing tomorrow.

The guys in general are a little dinged up, but if they're going to get hurt the few games before the Olympic break is certainly the time do do it. Two weeks to get healed up and ready to play the last 19 games of the regular season actually seems like a good thing so long as it isn't a momentum killer.

I would...

not be at all concerned, but I feel like Tippett just doesn’t trust the kids from the farm. I don’t know if they just aren’t being taught the same system, or if this is a Tippett thing (favoring his veterans)…but I’d feel a lot less concerned if he would just play the kids when he calls them up. I’ve seen nothing in Boedker or Porter when they’ve been in that has concerned me (Porter plays solid 2-way hockey, Boedker has shown nice offensive flashes which complement the team nicely in Upshall’s absence). But in Tippett I trust.

How about Fiddler?

Anyone heard how Fiddler’s doing? I haven’t seen anything on him, so am hoping that means he won’t miss any time. He’s such an integral part of the Yotes’ game this year, can’t afford to lose him.
