The Coyotes announced today that they have recalled defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson from the San Antonio Rampage. Since being sent down the young defenseman has been a point per game player scoring two goals and adding 8 assists in 10 games.

No one was sent down in place of Ekman-Larsson, but this does mean that he probably won't be heading to the World Junior Championships as the team reportedly had some sort of deal with him that if he was in San ANtionio he would be able to go. There's still the possibility that he could go and play but it really depends on how much playing time he gets up here as the 5/6 pair has really be light on ice time lately with Keith Yandle and Derek Morris getting nearly, if not over, 30 minutes on many nights.
