Matthew Hulsizer Meets Board of Governors, Says the Right Things
It wasn't an earth sharrtering day, but all news looks good coming out of the Board of Governors meeting in Florida. While nothing was voted upon as he and his investment group look to conclude their business with the City of Glendale, reports seem to indicate that once that hurdle is cleared things with the Board should progress quickly and smoothly. A lot of what fans have heard today is just in sound bites and various small reports from those at the meetings. Here are some of the quick highlights:
-The Glendale City Council is expected to vote on the lease agreement between the City and Hulsizer in the next general meeting which is on December 14th. Fans and others will have confirmation of this by Friday as the city is required to release the agenda and any necessary documents for review by citizens by that time.
- Hulsizer told the Board of Governors that if necessary he was prepared to pay for the losses that the team would incur in the future. While many reporters like to throw around that 20 million dollar number as the standard, with competent management at the helm that number should decrease rather quickly and consistently.
- He also said that he would bring in a new team president to manage things but that GM Don Maloney and Head Coach Dave Tippett would remain in place. Hulsizer said "It will be somebody with experience, somebody you will look at and say, 'Yeah, I get it, this is a person that is an A player.'"
- Our friends from Ice Edge Holdings could have a small minority role in the team, but Hulsizer will own the vast majority of the Coyotes.
All the news and everything he and others are saying point to this being done by Christmas which means that we Coyote fans will have at least one awesome present under the tree this year.

My condolences to the thrashers – your gonna be getting trolled soon by the Winnipeggers
Reality is that this could well be the end of a long and torturous process for us coyotes fans, and I for one will be happy to see the back of it.

Right on target with the ATL. Not just Winnipeggers either. They’ll get some Southern Ontario and Quebec City folks as well. At least I get that. It’s certain media members that drive me nuts and probably will drive them nuts as well.

Conditional congratulations to you guys
I say “conditional” because lord knows you guys have been through enough teases, but man this one looks close to the finish line.
So cheers to all you Yotes fans who’ve lived through this. Best of luck, and here’s hoping the worst is behind you.
