The Phoenix Coyotes continue their eastern road trip tonight as they visit everyone's (least) favorite team the Detroit Red Wings. The Coyotes are still struggling to find any sense of rhythm, identity and other clichéd nouns that basically mean they've played like garbage. Nothing seems to be going right for the team to begin the season, though all things considered it could be worse. We could have no overtime points and instead we have three. A 2-3-3 record isn't what they or the fans envisioned after last season raised expectations, but a win tonight would at least keep them treading water instead of sinking.
The Red Wings have started the season pretty well at 5-1-1 and pretty much being the Red Wings. Look forward to Tomas Holmstrom interfering with the goalie and not getting called for it etc. blah blah. Johan Franzen leads the team in goals with 5 and Henrik Zetterberg leads in total points 3-7-10. They're the Red Wings. Oh and if anyone tries to give you crap about the team tonight the splash screen when you go to the Red Wings home page offers tickets for 9 bucks.

I hope the bad habits some of our other defensemen have been showing lately aren't getting absorbed by the young guy. He also been hitting posts left and right this season and it's about time to bury a goal.
Jimmy Howard is out and Joey MacDonald is up from Grand Rapids. Good thing Osgood is a decent goalie. Well good for Detroit I guess.
