The Phoenix Coyotes have announced that they have released center Kyle Wellwood from his professional try out with the team. 

Wellwood had played well throughout camp but was beaten out for his position by the young Kyle Turris who was also impressive this camp. I would imagine that several other teams would be interested in acquiring Wellwood after his performance here, there were just too many centers under contract which is a problem I think the Coyotes were okay with having. Best of luck and now we don't have to hear any more fat jokes.
