Coyotes Coloring Pages - E is For... Ed
I love so many of our players. Through the good times and the bad. Through scoring streaks and slumps. But for some reason I've never really liked Ed Jovanovski. Mostly it's because I think he's terrible at playing defense and offense all at the same time. Yet here we are paying him 6.5 million for last year, and 6 this year to pass the puck to the other team! Literally. Look here. I don't want to hate the guy. I really don't. I just want him to pick. Be a defensive defenseman or an offensive one. Don't try and be both and suck at everything. Because right now he's not playing offense, he's just being offensive. Prove me wrong this season Jovo. Be the JovoCop you used to be. Please?

Heh, I like the pic.
Jovo was never and will never be good defensively. He’s a rover, and was damn good offensively for the Canucks for a few years. He just wasn’t worth the money he was asking given how poor he is in his own end.

That's exactly my point.
He doesn’t have to be spectacular, but if you’re not going to play offense you better play some D. Right now he’s not doing either one.

Just cover the corner on the power play
Let’s not set the bar to high for Jovo this year. How about he just covers the blue line on power plays? He lets the puck out of the zone so many times when we’ve got a man advantage that there should be a stat for it.
Or, how about he just stops as many as Z blocks shots?
Oh yeah, and while we’re at it, maybe he could stay standing still until after Lauder finishes the National Anthem?
jeeeez,
i been sayin’ that about jovo for two years…just hold the damn puck in at the point on the pp…but i am gonna give him a clean slate for the start of the season….but if special ed shows up more than jovocop, i’m gonna ride his butt like a slow pony….
who will rid me of this damn priest?
JOVO
I agree with the above remarks. he does need to do a better job of holding the puck in and he does need to play better D. especially when the yotes are paying him that kind of money… he is also one of the veterans on the team, so he needs to be a leader for these young kids. He needs to lead in the locker room and by his actions on the ice, and the mistakes he makes sometimes are not what we want the young guns to follow… Hopefully he can turn it around this season and be more of a complete d-man.
