Phoenix takes Oliver Ekman-Larsson with 6th Pick in the Draft

With their first pick in the draft th Phoenix Coyotes took Oliver Ekman Larsson. I wanted Jared Cowen, but Ekman-Larsson is a solid defenseman and was second on my list. The Coyotes reportedly spent more than 300 hours scouting the kid. I didn't get to see much of him in the World Juniors, but he was second on the Swedish National Team with 2-6-8. He had the highest plus/minus rating in the Swedish Allsvenskan League, which is just below the SEL, at a +44. He was first in points with players under 18 with 39. He's another really fast skater on a team that already has speedsters like Mikkel Boedker and Kyle Turris. One thing analysts said he needed to work on was using his size as more of an advantage. I'll get more up about him later when I'm not sitting in the middle of the Coyotes Draft party (as mentioned by Don Maloney at the draft..)
