Mirtle is reporting

that the ’yotes have filed for Chapter 11, the arena lease is likely dead as a doornail and the club is essentially up for sale to the highest bidder – including Jim Balsillie, whose offer would be conditional on moving the club to southern Ontario.

Somebody check to make sure Odin hasn’t hanged himself.

Mirtle’s story is here.

Hang in there, brother. There’s more to this story than meets the eye, methinks.

OH CRAP!

Let’s hope Jerry Reinsdorf is willing to outbid that Jim Balsillie maniac. Bettman has kept him from getting his paws on a hockey team this long. Remember the Penguins and Predators a few years back? It looked like Balsillie was gonna own them and move them but it all worked out.

Here's what I think...like it matters...

 …but here goes…
Balsillie has been involved in every “troubled” team dealings for years and Bettman has yet to let a NHL team go to him. This is just a standard business practice and a shrewd tactic to get Glendale to rework the arena contract so it’s worthwhile for Jerry Reinsdorf to purchase and keep them here. There is NO WAY IN HELL Bettman is giving an NHL team to Balsillie…plain and simple. Bettman and Moyes are just using Balsillie as “bait” to pressure the City of Glendale. Bettman has said multiple times the Coyotes are not moving and “we’re gonna fix them”. And this is just the beginning process of “fixing them”. Plus, do you know anything about or have you seen Reinsdorf? He eats business men like Balsillie for a midnight snack.
Relax fellow brothers and sister and enjoy the “fixing” of our team!
LETS GO COYOTES!!!!!

I hear you...

But the bankruptcy puts a whole new spin on things, with the threat of voiding the lease altogether; the City of Glendale will have to go to extraordinary lengths to keep the team now.

More fun than a stick to the face!

and that’s the main problem. With the Preds the decision was still in the hands of Leopold and the NHL. Now with the court proceedings the decision may be in the hands of the courts. The main goal of the courts is to make sure the secured creditors get paid.

I think

that’s the whole point of them doing this. At least I hope it is.

Not if the bankruptcy gets thrown out.

Remember too, the NHL is running the Coyotes now, not Moyes and company. That is a big plus in all of this.

Hang in there.

This is not the NBA and Seattle. This is fixable.
