Bizzaro Coyotes Defeat Bizzaro Sharks 4-1

The Coyotes really showed up on Thursday and took it to the Sharks. It was awesome to watch, but it's also the most frustrating part about being a Coyotes fan. You know this team is always there, but from night to night they can't decide which team they want to be. They lose 6-1 to the Kings, Follow up with a similar game against the Blues and then play one of the most complete games of the year against the Sharks. This once again proves the theory that we can only play well against the best teams. We knocked of Boston, San Jose (3 times), Detroit you get the picture. But we just don't seem to care when we play other teams. Sometimes we show up, and sometimes we don't...

In any event, this game was solid. The Sharks were in control for a few minutes here and there, but the majority of the game was all Coyotes. (As you can imagine with a 4-1 score) The Coyotes were far from perfect, but you could tell they wanted this one. The forecheck was there, the backcheck. Montoya stood on his head. What more could you ask for? Here's a quick wrap since i'm behind anyways...

First Period: Scottie Upshall got things rolling getting a gol over Nabokov off of an Offensive Zone faceoff. Looking at the video, Nabby wasn't looking like his normal self after the goal. He just kind of stared off into space and looked just out of sorts. Towards the end of the first The Coyotes finally scored on a 5 on 3 rather than just wasting time. got it to Jovo in the middle and he snapped it past Nabby for a 2-0 lead.

Second Period: Zbynek Michalek kept the ball rolling. Getting into the slot on a long rebound and put another open shot above Nabokov. The shot wasn't anything special, but he just couldn't make the save. About this time our parade to the penalty boxes got started. We hadn't taken a penaly all game until 4:38 in the second. In total we gave the Sharks 6 power play chances. THey converted on none of them. Where this PK came from I don't know. Al Montoya was a big halp making a ton of spectacular saves.

Third Period: Travis Moen had to go and ruin the Shutout opportunity for Montoya. when he took a few whacks at it to dislodge the puck from underneath Monty and into the net. 3-1 Yotes. Pete Mueller finished it off for the good guys on a wonderful pass from Scottie Upshall to him in the slot. He was all alone and just beat Nabokov. That goal breaks a 24 game goalless streak. See what happens when you skate instead of coast along out there? Sheesh.

Good game by the guys, now on to the Finale against the Ducks...
