Ed Jovanovski Suspended 2 games for Hit on Andrew Ebbett
Well, this sucks. It appears as if the NHL Wheel of Discipline has determined that Jovo's hit on Andrew Ebbett was worthy of a 2 game suspension. I suppose that this is only equal to what Wisniewski received for his (arguably) similar hit on Doan earlier this year, but I didn't think so. This looked like a hockey hit, that looked like a flying forearm. Either way, this will push Lepisto and Schlemko back into the line-up together. They've both been good, so it's not too big a concern except for the fact that the next two games are against Pacific Division rivals (and the 2 in front of us), LA and SJ. Still, happy to see Jovo back and playing at a high level since his injury. He has shown this year why they signed him to the big contract...

Put Sami with Keith. Schlem with… Z?
That second pairing might not be as ideal but i love seeing two young mobile d-men who arent afraid to carry the puck up into the play, and that’s what we get with Sami and Keith.
With Schlem’s performance so far, I think the Yotes really need to see what theyre doing with Sauer when he returns. I mean we have 3 solid pairings that now have about 2 months of play time together to mesh and get chemistry going.
Where will Kurt fit in when he comes back? The floating 7th d-man?

I like Sami with Keith, but I might move Schlem with Vandermeer…I don’t like the Aucoin/Vandy pairing because they have NO mobility…I have to imagine that when/if Sauer returns, he takes Vandermeer’s place in the line-up. The team seems really pleased with the way Lepisto has played, and I have to agree. I would make the pairings:
Sauer – Aucoin
Z – Yandle
Sami – Jovo
But that’s just because I like to pair an offensive minded d-man with a d-minded one and I prefer to keep the veterans spaced with younger players (when you have that luxury)….
World Ph*cking Champs! That was fun - let's do it again...
