Coyote Tracks - Links for Friday October 2, 2009

Hooray for the season finally starting last night! Only one more day until we get to see our guys in action against the Kings in LA. Until then here are some links to hold you over.

This season I'll be including links to the game wraps for the other teams from the appropriate SBNation Blogs, so check those out in the Last Night's Results section.

Coyotes Links

USA Today has an article about the Coyotes focus now turning to the fans.

The Coyotes are still doing their usual discounts. Thursday all you can eat nights, Family packs and Student and Military discounts on the night of the game.

In transactional news the team signed Colin Long to an Entry-level offer and assigned Kevin Porter to the Rampage.

League News

The Avalanche retired the Jersey of Joe Sakic last night. The ceremony included all the Avs players wearing Sacic 19 jerseys for the ceremony (pictured above). The whole thing was supposed to be carried by Versus, who a) wasn't seen in homes with Directv (GRRR) and b) chose to show "highlights" of the ceremony instead.
